Due to concerns about potential heart damage or even the risk of a heart attack leading to death, my rheumatologist has ordered a heart evaluation for me, particularly considering certain preexisting heart conditions I may have.

I've read that RTX is one of the few drugs out of over 300 that poses a significant risk of death in COVID patients. The primary risks associated with RTX treatment are typically related to initial infusion reactions, which can be serious.

It's important to remember that all medications carry some degree of side effects, and even common drugs like antibiotics can lead to severe adverse reactions, although such instances are usually quite rare. I recall my rheumatologist expressing hesitance to put me on RTX maintenance therapy about a decade ago, opting to explore other options first.
